Backcountry Skiing and Ski Touring:
Rocky Mountain Guides ski tours in the Dillon Ranger District as well as in the South Platte Ranger District. Between the Continental Divide, the Gore Range and the Ten Mile Range, we will find the best tour and conditions for you.
Tour objectives are numerous and include such classics as the Cristo Couloir on Quandary Peak (14,265’) and the Silver Couloir on Buffalo Mountain (12,777’). We also guide on Bald Mountain (13,684’), Mt. Guyot (13,370’), Uneva Peak (12,522’), No Name Peak (12,752’) and Grizzly Peak (13,427’) to name but a few more.
Rocky Mountain Guides also has access to a backcountry cabin on the Continental Divide and this region offers tours with descents up to 3,000’. Space is limited in this cozy cabin and this trip is for advanced backcountry skiers only.
Touring season starts in December and goes through May, when spring and corn skiing are at their best. These ski tours are usually full-day undertakings (5-7 hours).
