Build a solid foundation in outdoor rock climbing with comprehensive instruction in movement technique, belaying, safety systems, and climbing culture. Our basic rock climbing course takes you beyond introduction level, developing skills that prepare you for independent outdoor climbing with friends or progression to more advanced objectives.

This multi-day course (typically 2-3 days) provides extensive practice time on Summit County crags near Breckenridge and Frisco. Rocky Mountain Guides' AMGA-certified instructors ensure you learn proper technique from the start, avoiding the bad habits that self-taught climbers often develop. Since 1992, we've been building confident, competent climbers through quality instruction and patient progression.

The single best thing I ever did for my skiing was call Rocky Mountain Guides. Rocky Mountain Guides is your go to for winter adventures. I completed avalanche training and have since completed many backcountry ski touring trips with them. Though my initial interest was backcountry skiing, I ended up learning more about ski technique than I ever thought possible. Looking forward to more winter ski touring trips with them and maybe some summer climbing next year!
