From Silverthorne to Dillon, Silverthorne and Frisco all the way to Breckenridge, Summit County offers some of the greatest mountain biking trails in the Rockies. No matter your skill level, our wide range of trails will fit any riding level. From scenic rides on double track and cross-country adventures, to single track with steep climbs and loose downhill, there is no shortage of rides to fulfill all riders’ desires. With some of our high alpine rides reaching elevations of over 12,000 feet, you'll experience breathtaking views and everything that the Colorado Rockies have to offer. Whether you are looking for an easier half day ride, or an advanced full day adventure, Rocky Mountain Guides will work with you and/or your group to find the terrain and trails that will work best. Need help with logistics or want to eliminate a major part of the climbing section of the ride? Rocky Mountain Guides offers shuttled rides on the Wheeler / Colorado / Miners / Peaks trails in the Ten Mile Range and also the Salt Lick Trail System in Silverthorne.

Why Guided Mountain Bike Tours?

Local Trail Knowledge: We know every trail around Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne, and Keystone. Your guide selects routes based on your skill level, the day's conditions, and what type of riding you want: flowy singletrack, technical challenges, big descents, or epic cross-country rides.

Navigation & Logistics: Summit County's trail systems are extensive and interconnected. Our guides handle navigation, so you focus on riding. We also arrange shuttle services for point-to-point rides and big descents where you want to skip the climbing.

Safety & Support: Ride with confidence knowing your guide carries tools, spare parts, first aid, and has communication in case of emergencies. We handle mechanical issues and know alternative routes if conditions or fatigue require plan changes.

Progression & Coaching: While focused on riding, guides provide technique tips throughout the tour. Learn better line choices, feature approaches, and efficiency improvements as you ride.

All guided mountain bike tours include professional guide service, shuttle support for point-to-point rides, trail knowledge and navigation, mechanical support, and safety equipment. Bring your bike or rent locally (we'll recommend quality rentals).

Popular Guided Tour Routes

Peaks Trail: Summit County's iconic 11-mile descent from Breckenridge to Frisco. Flowing singletrack through aspen forests with Continental Divide views. We provide shuttle up, you ride down. Perfect introduction to Summit County riding.

Colorado Trail Sections: Sample portions of this 500-mile epic trail. Technical singletrack through high alpine terrain with challenging climbs and rewarding descents.

Wheeler/Colorado/Miners Loop: Advanced shuttle-accessed loop in the Ten Mile Range. Technical descents, exposure, and stunning alpine scenery. For strong, experienced riders.

Frisco Peninsula: Beginner-friendly loop around Dillon Reservoir. Smooth, scenic trail with minimal elevation gain. Great for families and new mountain bikers.

Sallie Barber: Intermediate singletrack with varied terrain—climbs, descents, technical sections, and flow. Excellent all-around Summit County trail experience.

We guide tours for all abilities:

  • Beginner: Comfortable riding easy singletrack, can handle gentle climbs
  • Intermediate: Confident on blue trails with some technical features
  • Advanced: Strong climber, comfortable on technical terrain and exposure
  • Expert: Aggressive rider seeking challenging, technical Summit County trails

Great experience! Got shuttled from Frisco to Breckenridge to mountain bike a series of trails from Boreas Pass to downtown Frisco. Highly recommend!
